scientific enviroment

Some of the most important scientific centres in Spain are located in Barcelona’s metropolitan area, including the Barcelona SuperComputing Center (BSC), and the proposed location of the ECMWF is central, with very easy and fast access to the airport, high speed railway station and motorways heading north, towards the centre or south.

Nexus II
The facility

The NEXUS II building is the facility being offered to the ECMWF for exclusive use.
It is designed by one of Spain's most internationally recognised architects, Ricardo Bofill.  The building has a ground floor and three floors, plus a basement floor with a car park and services. You can take the lift or flight up the stairs to your workstation.
